The European Values Olympiad
“A European CommUnity for Inclusion and Participation"
Project - OLYMPICEU
OLYMPICEU: The European Values Olympiad is a project co-funded by the European Union under the CERV Programme – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values.
The initiative is coordinated by the Italo-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce of Athens and involves six municipalities from Italy and Greece: Pyrgos, Ancient Olympia, Andravida-Kyllini, Crotone, Squillace and Cirò Marina. These areas share a long history linked to Magna Graecia and the Olympic values.
The project promotes democratic engagement, social inclusion and gender equality at the local level. Its aim is to create stronger ties among European citizens and institutions, opening participation to all those who share European values.
By focusing on marginalized groups and encouraging active civic participation, OLYMPICEU contributes to building trust between citizens and local authorities, combating discrimination and fostering dialogue across cultures.
Just like in the ancient Olympic tradition, the project creates opportunities for citizens to meet, exchange experiences, and celebrate unity in diversity, which is the foundation of Europe.
